  • Hillary Clinton Blasts Trump For Devastating Workers, Small Businesses While Getting Rich
    Updated On: Jul 07, 2016
By Doug Cunningham, July 7, 2016
In Atlantic City Wednesday Hillary Clinton blasted Donald Trump's business record as a selfish, systematic use of bankruptcy to enrich himself while devastating workers, small businesses and their communities. Four of Trump's Atlantic City
    properties, including casinos went bankrupt.
[Hillary Clinton]: "When this casino collapsed because of how badly he managed it, hundreds of people lost their jobs, shareholders were wiped out, lenders lost money. Contractors, many of them small businesses, took heavy losses and many themselves went bust. But Donald Trump? He walked away with millions."
Clinton said one clear example of his ruthlessness against less powerful people is his losing effort to take a widow's home in Atlantic City to make way for one of his building projects.
[Hillary Clinton]: "Now here in Atlantic City you may know about Vera Coking  - the widow whose house on Columbia Place - right over there - Donald tried to seize it through imminent domain and turn it into a parking lot for limousines."
Clinton said Trump has been involved in thousands of lawsuits stemming from his busines practices, including for not paying workers what they earned.
[Hillary Clinton]: "And many of those lawsuits were filed by ordinary Americans who worked for Donald Trump and never got paid. Painters, waiters, plumbers. People who needed the money they earned and didn't get it. Not because Donald Trump couldn't pay, but because he wouldn't pay."
Clinton says America can't allow Trump to do to the country what he did to his businesses. Clinton said Trump brags about victimizing and taking advantage of workers, looting his  businesses using bankruptcy laws.
[Hillary Clinton]: "And here's what he says about the whole experience. He actually brags about it. Atlantic City was a very good cash cow for me for a long time. The money I took out of there was incredible. Think about it. The money he took out of here. That says everything you need to know about Donald Trump.  He didn't just take advantage of investors, he took advantage of working people as well. Donald Trump cannot do the job for American workers and businesses!"
