Seven Government Worker Unions Oppose GOP Effort To Privatize Air Traffic Control
By Doug Cunningham
Seven government employee unions oppose privatization of America’s Air Traffic control system. Republicans in the House version of the FAA Re-Authorization bill included privatization.
The unions, including AFGE, AFSCME, and the National Association of Government Employees say “Overhauling the entire aviation system by removing air traffic control from federal oversight and funding will be a serious setback for its development and growth.”
They say privatization is unlikely to make air traffic control more efficient or less costly.
