American Federation of Government Employees union president David Cox Sr. says the union is deeply disturbed by the findings in a report just released on the November 1 2013 shooting death of Transportation Security officer Gerardo Hernandez. Cox says the lack of incident coordination documented in the report is absolutely unacceptable. The officer was not given medical attention until 33 minutes after being shot. Cox said the report demonstrates that security processes and systems at LAX are fundamentally broken. Cox called on TSA and the LAX authorities to take swift action to correct the problems.
